The Catch Process

Species are caught under the Indian government procedures and guidelines in terms of the fish ranges, net types and the timings for the catch. There are two ports respectively called North and South in Mandapam from which our fleets go for the catch on a day/night and night only catches.

The directorate of fisheries department issues catch approval tokens for the fleet and upon getting the approval tokens, our fleet go for the catch on Saturday, Monday, Wednesday and reaches back with the catches on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. If there are unacceptable and unfavourable conditions in the sea, the government stop issuing the tokens and our fleet won't go for those respective days.

Annual Freeze Period

Indian government imposes a strict freeze period of six to eight weeks per year to ensure the fish ranges and their ecosystems are preserved. This ensures the fish ranges are protected from the year along catches and the eggs/small species are protected from extinct.

During this period, our fleet also won't go for fishing and we ensure that the condition of all those fleet are in good condition. The fisheries department ensures the condition of all the fleet are in proper and suitable condition to ensure the fleet and the fishermen will be safe for the rest of the year.
